Treatment completed for exhibition in Designing Women: Fashion Creators and Their Interiors
The silks throughout the bodice of this gown were either shattering with significant losses, or torn and weak from wear. I supported every layer with stabilizing underlays and self-couching stitches, patterned and recreated an interior bodice lining to support the gown while dressed, and custom-painted in-fills to replace the losses of the lilac satin binding.
